Photo of Mardi Gras Day in the French Quarter of New Orleans
To take this image on Mardi Gras day I had to sit in a very unique spot to get this particular angle that I was after. Let’s just say that sidewalks are pretty “sticky” any day, on Mardi Gras Day that would be an understatement…but hey i got what I wanted!

As promised in  my previous post, here are some of my “newest” photos finally available for purchase at www.nolaPIC.com as fine art prints or canvas gallery wraps. They are a a selection of my best images taken from 2015 to 2016 in New Orleans and surrounding areas. Please click on each individual image to be taken on my other site to order.

New Orleans Black and white photo
this black and white photo is not too shabby either, actually I love it, and I think I may even like it better than the color one.

What has been going on photography wise?!?

I have been pretty busy the past year shooting unit stills on movies, so I have been focusing (pun intended) on getting more work in the movie industry which I really love doing! My fine art photography and headshots activity have therefore greatly decreased, but I am in the process of copyrighting a lot of killer photos that have been sitting on my backup drives instead of being appreciated (or purchased!) online. Hang on for a little bit longer because by the end of 2016/early 2017 I should have all the work done and have my latest work online at nolaPIC.com In the meantime here’re a couple of headshots fresh off my cameras, which i still enjoy doing very much when I have the time.

New Orleans Grand Opening - Panavision & Light Iron
Photos: Alfonso Bresciani – Click image above to see the complete Panavision / Light Iron Grand Opening gallery on Flickr.

I had a lot fun shooting at the grand opening of the expanded Panavision New Orleans location. Yeah I know you aren’t supposed to have fun while you work, but that happens whenever you do something you love for/with the great people! Needless to say they got me Panavised! Thank you very much! The new 30,500-square-foot space also houses Light Iron’s first brick-and-mortar facility in Louisiana. The state-of-the-art facility represents the first location occupied by the two companies since Panavision acquired Light Iron, a leader in digital workflow solutions, earlier this year. If you are in the film industry I strongly suggest you to visit them, it is a great facility, great people and location, from pre-pro to post!

If you live in New Orleans you have probably seen or heard about ESPN’s special insert published inside the Times-Picayune Sunday’s edition on August 30, 2015 commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. One of my shots of the New Orleans Saints pep rally/second line in the French Quarter the day before they won the Super Bowl has been featured on its cover… Who Dat! (The same shot has been published as well on the regular ESPN magazine, issue of Sept 14!) To purchase a print click this link

2014 Krewe of Zulu Pictures !

April 1st 2014

What an incredible Mardi Gras it was, my love/obsession for shooting with the rain came through this 2014 Mardi Gras day and on top of that I really got up and close to my all time favorite Krewe of  Zulu for some unreal pictures! It was VERY cold and miserable, ( at least for New Orleans standards) but nothing great comes easy in life, does it…I suffered more than you can imagine, trust me on dat,  but some of the Zulu photographs are in my opinion simply amazing! I’ll let you decide! ok?

My Photos Published in National Geographic Traveler

January 13, 2014
These two pictures taken at the 2011 Satchmo Summerfest second line have been published on the December 2013/January 2014 of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TRAVELER print issue (above), and iPad article, full spread (shot below). Not only the National Geographic publication included on their article “Best of the world 2014” the City of New Orleans, but they placed it first on its list! Pictured above from left to right are Jennifer Jones,  Selma Heraldo, Louis Armstrong’s beloved neighbor and friend, and Yoshio Toyama followed by the Treme Brass Band in front of the St. Augustine Church in Treme. I was indeed very happy to hear from Yoshio that he particularly loved the image with Selma very much, since he knew her very well and wasn’t expecting her to briefly join the second line with him that day. Selma Heraldo, the main living link to Louis Armstrong, sadly passed a few months later that year.
